Ollie Blume (1881–1919)

Ollie Blume was born on January 6, 1881, in Castor, Bienville Parish, Louisiana, to John Henry Blume and Appellonia “Appie” McInnis. She grew up in a large family with several siblings, including Bertha, Estella, Mattie Lee, and Johnnie L. Blume. Her early years were shaped by life in rural Louisiana during the late 19th century, a time marked by reconstruction and agricultural development in the Southern United States.

Ollie married James Colquitt "Jim" Johnson Sr., and together they had children, including James Colquitt Johnson Jr., Nancy Josephine Johnson, Stella Catherine Johnson, William Caperton Johnson, and Henry Blume Johnson. The family moved through different regions, living in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Oklahoma, reflecting the mobility often seen during this era of American expansion and settlement.

Ollie's life came to a tragic end on September 5, 1919, in Lucky, Bienville Parish, Louisiana, where she was laid to rest in Old Castor Cemetery. Her story embodies the resilience and dedication of a woman navigating family and community life in early 20th-century America.
